The episode also includes a hate crime perpetrated by the men of the family against the Sheriff of the town, a Black man and his wife. The opening scene alone caused much controversy as it showed three deformed men burying a newborn, the product of an incestuous coupling of a son and his mother. The episode revolves around an incestuous family living in a Civil War-era farmhouse and doing some pretty horrendous things.
